- 4 large potatoes
- 1 onion
- 1 clove garlic , minced
- 1 egg
- 1/4 "“ 1/2 cups flour
- Fresh ground pepper
- Neutral frying oil
Grate potatoes and thinly slice onions. Place in a large colander.
Squeeze mixture in the colander until as much moisture as possible has been removed.
Toss with garlic, egg, flour, salt and pepper.
Heat oil in a large skillet until hot. Add 1/4 cup handfuls of potatoes mixture to skillet and flatten to a pancake shape.
Fry each latke until well browned, then flip and brown the second side.
Serve with sugar, sour cream and apple sauce!
