Spaghetti with Parsley-Red Pepper Olive Oil Sauce

Spaghetti with Parsley-Red Pepper Olive Oil Sauce

Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 20 minutes
Total Time 35 minutes

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces (1/2 package) of spaghetti or other thin pasta
  • 4 garlic cloves , minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup freshly chopped parsley
  • 2 teaspoons crushed red pepper
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Garnish option: fresh Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions.
  2. Heat a large skillet to medium heat and add olive oil.
  3. Saute garlic until fragrant (do not burn) and add crushed red pepper and saute for another minute.
  4. Remove from heat and toss in freshly chopped parsley.
  5. Saute for a minute or two while draining pasta.
  6. Add pasta to garlic mixture and toss until evenly coated.
  7. Add salt and pepper to taste and serve hot.
  8. Garnish with fresh Parmesan cheese if desired.
